Nutritional therapy is fundamentally nutrition and lifestyle medicine that is both evidence informed and takes a holistic approach to ill health. Rather than focusing on symptoms it seeks to find the root causes. Practitioners use a wide range of tools to assess health and identify nutritional balances. They personally tailor nutrition and lifestyle changes for the individual. They promote the benefits of whole, unprocessed foods as well as the therapeutic effects of certain foods for specific health concerns. They utilise the ‘functional medicine model’ to analysis the case and find the imbalances at the root of the clients concerns.

What to Expect

In our sessions we work together on your personalised health plan with nutrition and lifestyle changes. I provide support to assist you in incorporating dietary and lifestyle changes. I’ll provide supplement recommendations and functional testing may also be valuable for your case.  These are an optional added cost that will be made clear.

Prior to your first appointment I will ask you to complete a health questionnaire and food diary so that we can get the most out of our session together. The initial session is where I find out more about your midlife and menopause concerns including symptoms along side your health and medical history.

Your case will be mapped using a functional medicine analysis putting the clues together to uncover imbalances contribuitng to your health concerns. I’ll explain whats going on and the best way forward. We then agree on the actions you can take to restore you to health step by step. Follow-ups review progress, make any changes and move the programme on to the next stage. I provide ‘supportive accountability’ this increases your  motivation, helping you stick to the programme. Other tools to help you on your journey, include ebooks, recipes and videos, podcasts as well as explanatory infomation sheets. Support calls help you overcome obstacles that are stopping you make the changes or move forward, I get you unstuck.

Nutritional Therapists frequently work alongside the medical profession or other healthcare professionals involved in their client’s care, however nutritional therapy is not a replacement for medical advice.

We work privately and are not governed by the NHS but work along side them with a holistic approach. Also known as functional medicine which medical professionals are embracing more.  We don’t diagnose or treat health concerns we seek to modulate and balance body systems impacting the symptoms and health of the individual.
