About me

I’m Marjorie a nutritional therapist based in York. My passion is to help women in their mid-years live a healthier life, filled with energy, reducing painful and embarrassing symptoms both prior and post menopause.

I am fully qualified Nutritional Therapy practitioner and registered with Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and British Association of nutrition and lifestyle medicine (BANT). This means you’re in safe hands as I have completed a rigorous evidence-based course and continue with the required CPD, this is hugely necessary in the field of fast changing nutrition and where nutritionist is not a protected title. (Click here for the differences between dieticians, nutrition practitioners, personal trainers).

My background is in beauty therapy, later establishing my own business in York. Prior to this I enjoyed management roles at a Spa’s and a Health Farm where the emphasis was much more on the health-related benefits, than pampering, champagne and chocolate!  Relaxation is important to combat the ravages of stress on the body, this may explain the current fascination with the day spa. However, unless lifestyle changes are implemented the benefits are very short lived. Over the last 10 years I have specialised in sports massage and non-invasive skin treatments, for skin conditions and rejuvenation, I found nutrition was often a crucial part of solution.

Bringing lasting changes into peoples lives is very satisfying and nutritional therapy enables me to do this at a deeper level.

Nourish Inside Out

I am no stranger to health havoc having suffered from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) later diagnosed as inflammatory bowel disease in my thirties. My nutrition journey began, I found modifying my diet eased symptoms and gave me more energy. Fast forward to my fifties and I experienced debilitating menopausal symptoms including hot flushes, night sweats often leading to poor sleep fatigue and poor concentration. It can affect all your relationships your career and social life. Many symptoms are the effect of existing imbalances that hormonal disruption heightens.

My experiences have led me to achieve my nutrition qualification from the respected Institute For Optimum Nutrition (ION) and  adream come true to graduate with distinction.

I can empathise with the ladies I work with and my skills enable me to help you make the necessary changes to improve your health, I am enthusiastic about health and wellness and love what I do.

Work with me

My passion is to empower you to achieve peak health and wellness through a combination of personalised dietary strategies, exercise, stress reduction and selected nutritional supplements. These tools help you improve your overall wellbeing, using nothing but nutrition, lifestyle changes and of course motivation. This is achieved through coaching you through gradual changes by explaining imbalances we will address and why, gaining your understanding and negotiating the dietary and lifestyle changes. So, nothing is in the plan you have not agreed to! Everything is implemented gradually through small changes making it manageable with everyday life.
